FOOD for thought....

It's funny how life can change on a dime. Just yesterday I was filling bottles and rocking my baby girl to sleep....when today we started REAL food. Well, real food to her anyways!! We had her 6 mth check up and she is doing just great. Weighing in at 15lbs 13oz. Standing tall at 26 1/2 inches.......however we are still trying to catch up in the noggin department. Only 41 1/2 cm. She is in the 25th percentile for her little peanut, 50th percentile for weight, and 75th percentile for height!!

Today was a busy, busy, busy day. We started out with pictures at Picture People. They turned out so stinkin cute. She's just a little camera hog!! She sure knows when to turn on the charm. Kurt and I had a rough time choosing between all the great shots, but like my mom says....."you're going to run out of walls"!! We are really happy with our choices and I hope you all will be as well. (if not.....oh well we footed the bill)!! :) I'll post those soon. (Haven't figured out that new scanner yet)!!

We got home and then next thing you know, we were dosing her up with a little Tylenol and preparing for the big bad SHOT monster!! Mom always gets to be the one holding, while Dad sits off to the side and cringes just as much as Bird does!! She was a trooper though. Just a few shrieks of pain and we were over it. Yes I said we.....it's traumatic for all involved if you ask me!!

After we left the Dr.'s office we had to run by the store and pick up what will be a main shopping list item for the next few months.....BABY FOOD!! I was so excited. Cadence is not going to know what to do with this colorful yet horrific smelling YUCK as I call it, or so I thought! We loaded up and headed home.

Once home we decided it was time......the moment when all parents (or all anal ones like me) get the kiddo all geared up for that first bite. That first spoon to mouth moment when we as parents almost make worse faces then the poor child putting the "YUCK" into their mouth. WHAT......WAIT A MINUTE....YOU MEAN ITS NOT THAT BAD????? She likes it, no let me take that back she loves it!! I couldn't get it to her fast enough. Bird loved the "YUCK"!! She was grabbing for my hands, she wanted more. It was a great moment, and of course we had the camera ready and waiting to capture it all!!

Today Sweet Potatoes.............next week T-Bone!! or maybe just pears!!! :)

Oh yeah..you have the open mouth mom feeding baby look..HA HA HA! Its a great stuff you should taste it yourself. Times have changed. Ok well good luck with it all. She is getting to big toooo fast. You are both doing awesome anal or not!

Belly Button Be Gone!!!

Goose had her hernia surgery done last week.  I was a complete wreck.  I know it isn't invasive, however it's still your baby going under anesthesia.   We had to be at Children's at 1:30 for check in.  Goose had no idea what was going on.  She was just as happy s can be.  It was just Goose, myself and Daddy, Nana picked Bird up from school and was keeping we busy until we were home.   When they called us back she got all her vitals checked and was a champ.  We changed her into a gown and she got to play while I spoke with the nurse, anesthesiologist, and the surgeon.  When the nurse told me that they would most likely intubate her, tears just rolled down my face.  In my line of work...intubation is never good, it's a way to sustain life.  I know that in this case it's just a way to know for sure they don't stop breathing during the procedure. The Surgeon came by to see us before and let us know what would be happening.  We work...

Fun with Friends!!

Nothin says fun like a little splash park fun with friends!!  Myself and the girls along with Tracy and Dalton made it to the park at about 11:15am and then we were joined by Russ and Austin, Aimee, Matters, Johnna and her girls!!  We were there for about 2 hours and they all had a great time!!!  Goose just loved it!  Walked ALL over!!  Gonna hit the park up again tomorrow with Aunt Tt, Brody, Nana and Little Man!!  Can't wait!!  We love all this outside time!!

Baby Bird turns 16

I'm still not sure how our first baby girls is 16!  I remember not only her birth story, but I remember loving being pregnant with her so much.  Except the heart burn, I could have done without that!   Beautiful Bird you have become such an awesome young lady.  One that I am blessed to be your Mama.  Your love of life truly shines through in any and all settings.  People are drawn to you for your huge heart and understanding ways.  You make friends easily, and teachers and coaches adore you for the hard worker you are, but mostly because you are a true team mate.   I love how close we are, and how close you are to your sisters.  The moments when we just get to hang out and talk life or not even talk at all and just enjoy each others company are some of my most favorite times.   I love when you get excited about things or when something really makes you laugh, I wish I could bottle that joy up and keep it forever.   We are ...
