Wow, Oh How Time Flies...

So here it is 9 pm on a Sunday night. In just 3 hours and 4 minutes our little girl will be six months old. I am a little sad at this moment in time. I remember it like it was yesterday.....welcoming her into the world.

I got off work at 4:30 pm as usual. It was a Friday night and man was I ready for the weekend. Easter was on Sunday and I was excited to see the Family. Kurt had called and said he was going to return the rental car that we had been driving for a week since mine was in the shop. I got home around 5pm. Made a quick bathroom stop, then went to let the dogs out. I closed the door behind the last pup, and all of a sudden I felt a....well...ummm...a gush. Yep, here I was alone at home and my water had just broke.

I calmly walked back into the bathroom, and called Kurt back. I asked him what he was doing and he said they were going to detail my car so it would be about 30 more minutes before he would get it back. I told him that just wasn't gonna work, and I didn't care what he brought home, he just better find a car and get here, cause we were gonna have a baby tonight!!!

I then called mom at work.....she never picked up, or so it seemed. So I calmly called back and told the man who answered the phone that it was a bit of an emergency. The next thing I know mom's co-worker and friend Terri is picking up the phone. She says, "what are you in labor"....I say back....YESSSSSSSSSSSS! Mom picks up the phone and before I could tell her not to rush over....she had already said, "I'm on my way" and hung up!!

I was feeling quite calm. I had already called the Dr. He said he was going to call the hospital and let them know I would be arriving shortly. Kurt got home and took a quick shower, then we were off to the hospital.

I got to the hospital and got all gowned up. They put the fetal monitor on me and we all watched and waited for Cadence to make her debut. However, right about now six months ago it got pretty scary. Cadence's heart rate kept dropping. They came in and hooked up an electrode to her head to monitor her more closely. They still weren't happy with her vitals, so they called in Dr. Murphy. I just focused on Kurt the entire time. I was praying to God and Grandma to keep her safe.

I was already an eight by this time and when the Dr. arrived almost 20 minutes later I was a 9. He looked at me and told me he was going to go change and then when he got back we were gonna have a baby. I felt a sense of calm come over me. He was so mellow, and assured me that everything was going to be fine. When he came back into the room he said I was about a 9 1/2 so he was just gonna help me onto a 10.

I think I pushed for like 45 min. Which to me it felt like 3-4 pushes, and then I saw her. She was beautiful. A head full of hair, and the olive skin I had hoped for. She looked so much like her daddy in all other aspects.

All our family and friends had stuck it out to see our beautiful Angel. We were so thankful for all of them being there. Everyone said a quick hello to Cadence and then left to go home to their own families. At last it was just the three of us. Kurt went to make us something to eat and it was then just Cadence and I. For the first time since she came into this world...it was just my daughter and I. Wow...I just said My Daughter. The feeling was over whelming. All I could do was stare at her in disbelief and tell her I love her over and over.

Now here it is 6 mths later and she has grown so fast. I don't think I ever realized how time flew by until I had a child. Everyday is a little different then the day before.

We celebrated her 6 mth b-day with the Krueger Family tonight. We all went to Power Play and had a great time. However...I think the "boys" had way more fun then Cadence did, but she was perfect all night.

I'll end with this....

Bird- Happy Birthday our miracle from above. Continue to grow and blossom.....just not so fast!! Mommy and Daddy Love you to the moon and back. You are our World.

Night night little one...............

Belly Button Be Gone!!!

Goose had her hernia surgery done last week.  I was a complete wreck.  I know it isn't invasive, however it's still your baby going under anesthesia.   We had to be at Children's at 1:30 for check in.  Goose had no idea what was going on.  She was just as happy s can be.  It was just Goose, myself and Daddy, Nana picked Bird up from school and was keeping we busy until we were home.   When they called us back she got all her vitals checked and was a champ.  We changed her into a gown and she got to play while I spoke with the nurse, anesthesiologist, and the surgeon.  When the nurse told me that they would most likely intubate her, tears just rolled down my face.  In my line of work...intubation is never good, it's a way to sustain life.  I know that in this case it's just a way to know for sure they don't stop breathing during the procedure. The Surgeon came by to see us before and let us know what would be happening.  We work...

Baby Bird turns 16

I'm still not sure how our first baby girls is 16!  I remember not only her birth story, but I remember loving being pregnant with her so much.  Except the heart burn, I could have done without that!   Beautiful Bird you have become such an awesome young lady.  One that I am blessed to be your Mama.  Your love of life truly shines through in any and all settings.  People are drawn to you for your huge heart and understanding ways.  You make friends easily, and teachers and coaches adore you for the hard worker you are, but mostly because you are a true team mate.   I love how close we are, and how close you are to your sisters.  The moments when we just get to hang out and talk life or not even talk at all and just enjoy each others company are some of my most favorite times.   I love when you get excited about things or when something really makes you laugh, I wish I could bottle that joy up and keep it forever.   We are ...
