To pierce or not to pierce....that is the question

I've been going over and over it in my mind....do I get Bird's ears pierced? I think little girls with their ears pierced are super cute, but then again Bird is just as super cute without them pierced. Part of me says it's not fair to put her through the pain just for my own satisfaction, and then I think the pain won't last but a few seconds.

So what do you all think, should I go for it, or should I wait and let my little Bird decide when it's right for her. I got my done when I was little, and ended up with 6 in one ear and 3 in the other......... so I'm not really one to make this decision for her!

Help!! :)

You do what you and Kurt want to do. DUH! Yes, its suppossed to look super cute on little girls but you are right she is too cute without them. I think honestly the only REASON I would do is if she looked like a boy which sometimes babies do but her eyelashes are KILLER

I say do it! I took Delaney when she was only two months old. She cried with the first one and by the time they got to the second she was literally asleep and did not wake up when they pierced her! It's not that big of a deal. I think it's scarier for them when they're older and think about the pain (that isn't there) more. Delaney likes hers sometimes and other times she doesn't wear them, but she likes having the option and she's only 4. =)
But like you I'm swayed a little, two holes in each ear, we did our navels together back in the day! And I have 2 tattoos and another one coming! So......keep us posted! Get it "Post"

We did Maddie's when she was one. Around 3, she stopped wearing them and they have closed up. We did it because people said she looked like a boy. I don't think I wll do Callie's till she is old enough to decide. If you do get them done now, ask them to do both ears at the same time. They did this with Maddie and I think it helped, that way she didn't know what to expect with the second.

Hey Candie, You and Kurt will have to make that decision. My parents did mine at and early age. I was like 1 or so. I did Stacia's when she was 8 months.

Oh lady this is somethingI know I would struggle with if I had a girl. Part of me says piece them cause it is so cute but then the other part of me says wait till she is old enough to look foward to it. Someday you could make it a really big thing you and her do together that she will always remember. I still rmrmber when my mom took me, big day!

Belly Button Be Gone!!!

Goose had her hernia surgery done last week.  I was a complete wreck.  I know it isn't invasive, however it's still your baby going under anesthesia.   We had to be at Children's at 1:30 for check in.  Goose had no idea what was going on.  She was just as happy s can be.  It was just Goose, myself and Daddy, Nana picked Bird up from school and was keeping we busy until we were home.   When they called us back she got all her vitals checked and was a champ.  We changed her into a gown and she got to play while I spoke with the nurse, anesthesiologist, and the surgeon.  When the nurse told me that they would most likely intubate her, tears just rolled down my face.  In my line of work...intubation is never good, it's a way to sustain life.  I know that in this case it's just a way to know for sure they don't stop breathing during the procedure. The Surgeon came by to see us before and let us know what would be happening.  We work...

Baby Bird turns 16

I'm still not sure how our first baby girls is 16!  I remember not only her birth story, but I remember loving being pregnant with her so much.  Except the heart burn, I could have done without that!   Beautiful Bird you have become such an awesome young lady.  One that I am blessed to be your Mama.  Your love of life truly shines through in any and all settings.  People are drawn to you for your huge heart and understanding ways.  You make friends easily, and teachers and coaches adore you for the hard worker you are, but mostly because you are a true team mate.   I love how close we are, and how close you are to your sisters.  The moments when we just get to hang out and talk life or not even talk at all and just enjoy each others company are some of my most favorite times.   I love when you get excited about things or when something really makes you laugh, I wish I could bottle that joy up and keep it forever.   We are ...
