This Thanksgiving was a little out of the norm....my Papa was not here to celebrate with us. No, his health is fine, and he was just a few miles away, he was just celebrating with others. It was hard for me, I won't lie I had my morning break down and thank goodness the Husband was right by my side to comfort me. We see him quite a bit as it is, and really Thanksgiving is just another day with a little more food on the table...right. So anyways....my Mom, brother and his family, and my own family celebrated here at our house!! The food was great, and like always we had a ton of left overs. All was said and done by about 5pm. We were all beat, and I knew I had a long shopping spree ahead of me!
My cousin Sundie and her girls came in and stayed at my Moms. I headed over there at about 10pm on Thanksgiving night. We were planning in hitting Toys R Us at midnight. We were so pumped!! Sundie and I headed to the store, and oh my goodness you should have already seen the line. Out Of Control!! We got out of the car into the cold winter air....walked to the end of the line which was a joke....stood there for about 15 min....and I said forget it. Sundie wasn't looking for anything there, and what I was looking for...I will pay full price for instead of waiting in that mess!! So we hit Quick Trip on the way home grabbed some coffee, and headed back to moms. Everyone was almost passed out for it was almost midnight. Sundie and I stayed up chatting and laughing about old times, ex boyfriends, and life. It was so nice to actually get those three few hours with her! Once it hit about 3am...we headed to Walmart! Oh how I love the chaos!! Sundie had never experienced the true start of Black Friday!! She was in for a treat! We quickly got a game plan, and it ended up with each of us on opposite sides of the store! We were sending text messages back and forth! The "Ramsour" klan was there as well, and so we all were spread out. Once 4:45am hit, they started to make an announcement over the PA system, and all well.....hell broke loose!! People started ripping open the packages, and the frenzy was on!! I was cracking up!! I got what I was waiting on, and headed to save Sundie. Once I finally got to her, we had gotten the deals we were wanting! Poor Christy got stuck in the back of the store with a cart...that mind you had nothing in it for her. Note to self....never leave a friend in the toy section with a cart....she barely made it out alive!!
Once we got through the massive lines, we headed to Target. It was much, much, much calmer, and they still had everything I was wanting! It was great! We decided then that we were done. We headed back to my moms, I said my goodbyes, and was ready to be home and in my bed!! Up for over 24 hours....I hadn't done that since my teen age years!! LOL!!
I was glad Sundie got to come up and hang out with me for Black Friday!! I hope we can make this a new tradition!! It was one I will remember always!! Thanks Cuz!!! :)
