We had our 1st sonogram today. The baby is looking and sounding strong at 156bpm. It was a blessing to hear that little heart beat! We have been waiting for so long. here I am 17 weeks and I had not heard the heartbeat until yesterday, and the Husband not until today! What a glorious sound!! We watched as the sono tech did all her measuring of the baby, whom is breech right now, but of no concern since we have so much time left to go. We were so excited to know.....is it boy or girl. However....once again.....baby did not play nice!! There was a foot in the "magic" spot the entire time. No matter how many little jabs and wiggles the tech did on my belly...he/she was not about to move that foot!! The Husband was crushed once again. He hates waiting, and more so hates surprises...so me telling him we will just wait until my next appointment, was like waiting til pigs fly!!
The baby looked and measured great....right on track, so that was all I really needed to hear! Yes, I am a bit bummed I won't be decorating a room as soon as I had hoped, but hey a healthy baby is what matters most! We do have the opportunity to pay for a gender scan if the Dr. doesn't think another sono is necessary. So if all else fails that's what we will do with in the next month or so!! Until then......your guess is as good as mine!! :)
