Omaha or Bust...or both???

So the family headed to Omaha last Thursday. The Husband, Bird, and Little Man in one vehicle, and Myself, Nana, and Goose in another. We left KC at around 3pm. We only stopped once, grabbed a bite to eat, and were back on the road. We were heading for our hotel located seriously right across the street from the zoo. We got to the hotel around 6pm
You should have seen the kiddos faces when they saw the indoor pool! We got to our room, and threw on our suits. I was a bit nervous, Bird has never really been in a big pool. Little man had his life jacket, but it still worried me. Why in the world was I worried??? These two little people have no fear! Bird watched Little Man jump into the pool, and in she went!! I about died!! Thank goodness I was standing right there and was able to grab her. She demanded I let her go and that she do it "herself"!! The Husband got in after a while and we had a great time. Goose sat out with Nana, but she was happy as ever just watching and listening to all of us!

We woke up the next morning and had breakfast, and got all packed up to head over to the zoo. I must say it is a cute little zoo. The exhibits are pretty amazing. The kids loved the Jungle. Little Man and Bird made a friend who followed us from start to finish. He squawked at the kids and they squawked back....it was one of the neatest things I have ever seen. He really liked Little Man...he even got down on the ground and followed him here and there!

Next was the aquarium. Loved it!! Bird was in awe of all the ocean life surrounding her. Little Man loved the Happy Feet as he called them! He also wanted his pic taken in front of all the fish...many times!! :) He just continued saying..."we should do this again". He loves taking vacations with us, and we love having him! It just wouldn't feel the same! Nana was having a great time watching the kiddos experience it all. Goose...well Goose was just hangin out taking it all in...bein the best little baby ever.

By 2pm we were all starting to feel a bit tired. The heat wasn't helping. So we took a train ride, and decided to go take a look at Madagascar. Those damm Lemurs. A story for my next blog. Bird was checkin em out with the rest of us. She had sat down in the stroller, and the next thing we all know is, she stood up and the stroller came out form under her...smack she hit the back of her head so hard on the concrete. She cried which is quite unusual for her. We decided then that it was pretty much time to wrap up our day. Little Man and myself however still wanted to ride the Sky lift. So we convinced Nana to go with us. The Husband stayed on the ground with the girls. Little Man loved it....Nana on the other hand was a bit frightened. It was a 20 minute ride down and back. You get to see a lot of animals that we somehow missed. SO it was good we went.

Once back on the ground, we were ready to head out. We stopped by the gift shop, bought a few souvenirs, and headed to our cars to head home. Whew we were all wiped out. The kids were both out by the time we hit the highway. We hit a huge storm coming home. Nana could barely see. Once again Goose slept threw the whole thing! However the Husband called and said that he was about 10 minutes away from my brothers house and Bird had thrown up. he said he thought it was from being scared of the storm...well my gut said otherwise. We all got home after a great short, but fun packed trip...and to the ER we went.......
To be continued......

Belly Button Be Gone!!!

Goose had her hernia surgery done last week.  I was a complete wreck.  I know it isn't invasive, however it's still your baby going under anesthesia.   We had to be at Children's at 1:30 for check in.  Goose had no idea what was going on.  She was just as happy s can be.  It was just Goose, myself and Daddy, Nana picked Bird up from school and was keeping we busy until we were home.   When they called us back she got all her vitals checked and was a champ.  We changed her into a gown and she got to play while I spoke with the nurse, anesthesiologist, and the surgeon.  When the nurse told me that they would most likely intubate her, tears just rolled down my face.  In my line of work...intubation is never good, it's a way to sustain life.  I know that in this case it's just a way to know for sure they don't stop breathing during the procedure. The Surgeon came by to see us before and let us know what would be happening.  We work...

Baby Bird turns 16

I'm still not sure how our first baby girls is 16!  I remember not only her birth story, but I remember loving being pregnant with her so much.  Except the heart burn, I could have done without that!   Beautiful Bird you have become such an awesome young lady.  One that I am blessed to be your Mama.  Your love of life truly shines through in any and all settings.  People are drawn to you for your huge heart and understanding ways.  You make friends easily, and teachers and coaches adore you for the hard worker you are, but mostly because you are a true team mate.   I love how close we are, and how close you are to your sisters.  The moments when we just get to hang out and talk life or not even talk at all and just enjoy each others company are some of my most favorite times.   I love when you get excited about things or when something really makes you laugh, I wish I could bottle that joy up and keep it forever.   We are ...
