Introducing our NEW tradition...

So here we are...almost Halloween!! I adore this holiday! I love all the kiddos dressin up, carving pumpkins, and most of all watching all the fun Halloween cartoons!! Every year for the past ump teen years we have gone to a friends parents house for trick or treating....well...this year, this year we are sad to miss it, but are making are own traditions that we hope will continue throughout the years!! We have decided to stay home and have our very own Trick-or-Treat bash! The husband seems pretty excited, he's carving 7 or eight pumpkins as I type actually, and who knows what he will come up with tomorrow. I busted out all the Halloween decor that hasn't seen daylight in a few years. Our neighbor is joining in the festivities...he also will have a ton of carved pumpkins and decor for the trick or treaters!!(Poor Goose was soooo sleepy...she made it through 1 pumpkin and was done!!)
My Mom, Papa, brother and his Fam, and a few friends will be joining us so far. I am going to make a big ol pot of chili, roast some pumpkin seeds, and bake some cookies! I am so excited to stay home and hand out treats to the little ones, this way if it's too chilly for Goose she can hang out as well. I will have hot chocolate ready for our little ones if the weather calls for it. I remember my Mom doing this when we were young. Dad would take us out, and Mom would be ready for us to drop off our first haul of candy, get us warm, and give us just a bit longer before we called it a night.
I just know this will be an ongoing tradition....and honestly...I am sooooo excited!! Happy Halloween everyone!!

P.S. Check out the girls in their matching PJ's they got from our AWESOME daycare provider for their annual Boo Bash!! All the kiddos had them on when the parents came to pick them up!! I am truly blessed to have found these 2 wonderful women who love my children as their own!! :)

So cute!! Love the pjs! We hope to get to come by your new tradition on Halloween!! We too have traditions from when we were younger. Grandma's house and Stans. I think we're going to skip Stans this year and do Grandma's...So we should have time to swing by your place even if we don't do anymore trick-or-treating! Good for you for taking a step to make your own path!!!

Belly Button Be Gone!!!

Goose had her hernia surgery done last week.  I was a complete wreck.  I know it isn't invasive, however it's still your baby going under anesthesia.   We had to be at Children's at 1:30 for check in.  Goose had no idea what was going on.  She was just as happy s can be.  It was just Goose, myself and Daddy, Nana picked Bird up from school and was keeping we busy until we were home.   When they called us back she got all her vitals checked and was a champ.  We changed her into a gown and she got to play while I spoke with the nurse, anesthesiologist, and the surgeon.  When the nurse told me that they would most likely intubate her, tears just rolled down my face.  In my line of work...intubation is never good, it's a way to sustain life.  I know that in this case it's just a way to know for sure they don't stop breathing during the procedure. The Surgeon came by to see us before and let us know what would be happening.  We work...

Baby Bird turns 16

I'm still not sure how our first baby girls is 16!  I remember not only her birth story, but I remember loving being pregnant with her so much.  Except the heart burn, I could have done without that!   Beautiful Bird you have become such an awesome young lady.  One that I am blessed to be your Mama.  Your love of life truly shines through in any and all settings.  People are drawn to you for your huge heart and understanding ways.  You make friends easily, and teachers and coaches adore you for the hard worker you are, but mostly because you are a true team mate.   I love how close we are, and how close you are to your sisters.  The moments when we just get to hang out and talk life or not even talk at all and just enjoy each others company are some of my most favorite times.   I love when you get excited about things or when something really makes you laugh, I wish I could bottle that joy up and keep it forever.   We are ...
