Christmas EVERYWHERE!!

Christmas time is always such a run here, run there time for us as I am sure it is for most of you as well. The festivities started here at our house on Christmas Eve. My brother and his family, along with my Dad and his girlfriend were coming over. I made a large pan of my infamous lasagna for dinner. Even with just the three kiddos, it's gets a little crazy with Little man and Bird. We decided to open presents first. The kids were having a blast. Goose got more enjoyment out of the wrapping paper then anything else. Bird got a huge ladybug tent from little man. My brother and I thought it was a good idea to put it up in her room....WOW were we wrong!! LOL!! It really was a huge tent!! They were having a blast in it. I think they convinced the Husband and my brother to move it at least three more times to different spots in the house. We were finishing up dinner when I went down to the living room to check on the kiddos. Next thing I know the tent tips over with little man in it, and then he comes wailing out of it holding head head as the blood flowed. I immediately picked up the nearest rag/blanket I could find and stick it on his noggin. People began to flip!! It was a small head lac, which the Husband and I both told them would most likely just need some glue...if anything else maybe 2 stitches. (Man I miss our E.R. days!) So they loaded him up and off to the hospital they went...needless to say our evening was over. Dad and Billie left not to much later. I got a text from my mom who met them in the ER, and she said they glued it and they were heading home to make cookies for Santa! Whew....I was glad. We got our cookies and milk ready for Santa as well. Bird was soooo excited. She went to bed with only a few "get back in bed" conversations! LOL!

The next morning was Christmas morning and wouldn't you know....my girls both woke up at 5:30 am. However we got to have some snuggles first before Bird realized....SANTA CAME!! So we rushed down the hall to see if he had eaten the cookies...he had...he even left one that he had taken a bite out of. She couldn't believe that he left them a note as well!! Down the stairs we headed to see if they had been good or bad...Yep...they sure were good! Bird was in awe of her doll house. She immediately started playing with it. Goose once again was just loving the commotion! She's my "take it all in" girl!! The Bird spotted the wrapped present in front of the doll house from Santa. She ripped into it and squealed with delight!! it was a CAMERA!! Just what she had asked for!! It was sooo cute! After that it was pretty much all a blur. Wrapping paper flying here and there, I thought we lost goose in all the madness, but no, she was still there just grinning from ear to ear!!

The girls got Daddy some new Bose ear buds, and they got Mommy a Nook!! Man they did AWESOME!! I am already in love with my Nook, two full books down already!! It's amazing! We had to get cleaned up...play with all our new gadgets and toys for a bit, then head to Nana's house for Christmas.

We got to Nana's a little early...which is amazing for us!! LOL!! Then our Papa came and my brother and his family followed behind. We had a great Christmas, Nana always spoils the kids along with us big kids. We each got a nice Visa gift card to do what we chose. As for Nana, the girls made her a photo book. She loved it. She was so excited about it. She couldn't wait to show it off. Of course Papa just thought it was the neatest thing, and the fact that he made the book was even better!! LOL!! I think he might have bragged the book up just as much as Nana if not more!! :) The kids just kept unwrapping!! I have no idea what we are going to do with it all!! The rest of the extended family started arriving and before we knew it, we had a full house!! This is what I love about the holidays the most!! I love my family!! By the time it was all over we were pooped!! It was 6 o clock and felt like midnight!! Bird fell asleep in her daddy's lap...we loaded her up, got her home, unloaded her, changed her into her PJ's and she still slept all the way through until morning!! WOW!!

Sunday we headed to Grandma Betsy's house. Bird was a little reluctant...she's such a home body these days. I knew once we got there and she warmed up, she would have a great time. Sure enough, it took her a minute, but once she was ready, she was running and playing like normal. We ate dinner which was oh so yummy, and then headed into the living room for our gifts. Once again we the kids were spoiled rotten!! I am thankful for the girls new wardrobes!! Little Avi is so stinkin cute. She's just growin like a weed. I can't wait to take all three girls pics together!! Once again by the time all was said and done, we were ready to go home....we were all worn out!! I knew I had the week off, however I also knew I had all three kiddos the next day!!

So there you have it....Christmas has come and gone until next year. We are blessed by all the gifts we received, and all the family time we shared. However the best gift of all for me was....the fact that my friends and I were able to adopt a family of seven and knock out everything on their wish list in hopes that maybe just maybe we could help them have a Christmas worth remembering as well!!

Until next year!!!

Belly Button Be Gone!!!

Goose had her hernia surgery done last week.  I was a complete wreck.  I know it isn't invasive, however it's still your baby going under anesthesia.   We had to be at Children's at 1:30 for check in.  Goose had no idea what was going on.  She was just as happy s can be.  It was just Goose, myself and Daddy, Nana picked Bird up from school and was keeping we busy until we were home.   When they called us back she got all her vitals checked and was a champ.  We changed her into a gown and she got to play while I spoke with the nurse, anesthesiologist, and the surgeon.  When the nurse told me that they would most likely intubate her, tears just rolled down my face.  In my line of work...intubation is never good, it's a way to sustain life.  I know that in this case it's just a way to know for sure they don't stop breathing during the procedure. The Surgeon came by to see us before and let us know what would be happening.  We work...

Baby Bird turns 16

I'm still not sure how our first baby girls is 16!  I remember not only her birth story, but I remember loving being pregnant with her so much.  Except the heart burn, I could have done without that!   Beautiful Bird you have become such an awesome young lady.  One that I am blessed to be your Mama.  Your love of life truly shines through in any and all settings.  People are drawn to you for your huge heart and understanding ways.  You make friends easily, and teachers and coaches adore you for the hard worker you are, but mostly because you are a true team mate.   I love how close we are, and how close you are to your sisters.  The moments when we just get to hang out and talk life or not even talk at all and just enjoy each others company are some of my most favorite times.   I love when you get excited about things or when something really makes you laugh, I wish I could bottle that joy up and keep it forever.   We are ...
