Oh how we love this time of year!! The leaves changing colors, the smells of firewood burning, and most of all...Halloween! We try and do as many things as we can so that the kiddos get to wear their costumes more then once!
Last Sat. we headed out to Deanna Rose Farm to partake in their annual Night of the Living Farm. We have done this for the past 3 years now. We really do enjoy it. This year we had to rush home from Jojo's 2nd Birthday party to change clothes and pick up Daddy. Once we got to the farm we found Aunt Doe Doe, Uncle Jason, Delaney (The Cat in the Hat), Garrett (Thing 1), Lucy (Thing 2), Ernie, Corey, Wyatt, Gage, baby Brylin, Shawn, Sherri and their three kiddos.
What a fun group! First stop...marshmellow roasting!! I love this part!! So did all the kiddos...and most of the adults! We then went and danced a little jig on the stage, then went on a scavenger hunt through the woods with flashlights. Soon we were at the haunted house in which the two little girls wanted nothing to do with. The bigger kiddos went through it and even said it was scary! Delaney came out looking petrified! Garrett...he's a brave little fella! Those creepy guys would sit right next to him and just stare at him....he wouldn't even move....he just stared right back!! Bird...well Bird thought she wanted to go into the haunted house...her and Daddy made it to the entrance, and the man that she thought was fake moved....OUT like lightning she was!!
We then headed to get some free Chocolate milk and made our way to the back of the farm. The kids got their fortunes read, and a piece of candy to go with it. We saw Aunt Tt and Brody on our way to the barn, along with Becky, Judd and the girls.
The Not scary hayride was next. Royal, Sherri and I took the kiddos while the guys hung back and chit chatted. It was a short ride, but they all seemed to like it. We went into the barn got faces painted, and then received some more candy. The old mine was next. Daddy took the girls down to race some little boats. Once done here we went and grabbed some free kettle corn and then headed back over to the scary hayride. Holy smokes you should have seen the line!! 45 min. from where we were. Royal and I knew our kiddos would never make it, so we said bye to everyone else and headed out.
Garrett and Bird sure have missed one another!! They held hands the entire night and never left one another! I just love seeing them together. We all headed out to our cars and gave big hugs goodbye!!
Until Next Year!!! (For the Farm that is!!)
